Thank you for considering submission of an abstract for presentation at the Venice 2012 Symposium.
The deadline for submission of abstracts officially expired on February 29th 2012. Should you wish to submit a late abstract, please contact the Organising Secretariat on papers@venicesymposium.it, all efforts will be made to evaluate your proposal for potential inclusion in the Symposium programme.
Abstracts (at least one but no more than two full pages) should be prepared using the abstract template and submitted as a Word or PDF file attachment. The file should be saved using the Leading Author’s name (e.g. Smith.doc).
The abstract must clearly describe the content of the presentation and its basis (detailed case study, discussion of experience from practice, preliminary research data, completed research not presented previously, review of literature, administrative initiatives and regulations, etc). Abstracts may be submitted for oral or poster presentation; offers of papers for workshops are also welcome.
Each Leading Author may submit no more than three abstracts; the Leading Author will be considered as corresponding author by the Organization.
Please note that the Organising Secretariat will confirm receipt of all abstracts. Authors not receiving an e-mail notifying receipt of their abstract should check with the Secretariat to ensure their abstract has been effectively received. Proof of mailing will not be taken as proof of receipt.
The official language of the Symposium will be English. All papers must be written and presented in English. Authors will be expected to attend the conference and present their papers themselves.
In addition, the Symposium will arrange a session to be held entirely in Italian, in order to facilitate the participation of local delegates. Italian authors may freely submit papers for inclusion in both English and Italian sessions (in the English and Italian languages, respectively).
Abstracts will be selected following evaluation by an international panel of referees. Acceptance of abstracts will be notified to the Leading Author no later than March 31st 2012.
If notification has not been received by the above date the Authors should contact the Organizers.
Full papers should be addressed to the Organizers and received no later than 30th June 2012. Final papers will be checked by the Executive Programme Committee and papers of inadequate quality will be removed from the Symposium Programme. Authors will also be requested to submit their PowerPoint presentations no later than 31st October 2012.
All papers accepted for presentation at the Symposium will be published in Proceedings available at the start of the Symposium.
Selected papers of appropriate quality may be considered for potential publication, following the regular peer review process, in the IWWG International Journal Waste Management (Elsevier).
